Tupperware Necklace

tupp-necklace-high.jpgwww.lianakabel.com

A striking necklace that is made from recycled Tupperware lids, it looks like they have been reduced - possible from being melted down. Silver is used to add structure and fuse each Tupperware segment.

The artist called Liana is based in Brisbane Australia and has a very broad background that helps her look at things from another perspective and applying her design principles.

I love the bright colour combinations, the coloured circles make this piece stand out, they look to be more retro colours - I love the light blue and orange with pinks and purples.

Handmade Bracelet

ecoband-2.jpghttp://www.ecoist.com
This is a great way to show and support the fight against Global Warming.
Made totally from repurposed candy wrapper and food packages it’s the best way to show you support repurposed material that reduces waste and pollution. It is also hand made by a non-for-profit organisation in Mexico.
An Ecoist type of person is a person that is concious of the world around them and is able to live a modern life that is eco-minded. All products are handcrafted and are diverse as the people that where them who might be anyone form all over the world. All products are made from sweatshop free environments.
I love these products as they make you think about where they came from, you are not just blindly consuming something that is adding to some rich faceless corporate conglomerate. It’s a very inspirational way to shop.

Necklace

elasticolor.jpgwww.mindwhatyouwear.com

Mind what you wear makes the ordinary - extraordinary.

All Necklaces are very well made from rubber-bands they comes in various colours.

The designer is fascinated by every day objects that can be made into something different and unusual.

These fascinating necklaces uses an old technique of making a loop-in-loop chain. By interlocking rubber-bands in each other. In the past this style has been used to make gold or silverware.

I also love the colours, they are all so bright and eye catching. The fact that there are many different colours in the one group of rubber bands also adds to there interestingness.

Check out there other products, some are really funny and use humor to get a thought provoking message across.

Beach Necklacewww.myspacefruit.com

I just adore everything about this piece of jewellry.

Made from reclaimed materials picked up from what washes in at high tide from the beach, it is a perfect example of what amazing unique items can be made from waste material.

All the rough circles are hand cut individually from old shampoo bottles. So they are very environmentally aware fashion items.

The sea is a massive influence for this artist - maybe that’s why I love them so much.
